Application deadline extended for fixed cost subsidy 800 000 and loss compensation I
In order to relieve the burden on businesses and accountants in the current economically-challenging situation, the Finance Ministry has extended the application deadline for the fixed cost subsidy 800 000 and loss compensation I. Originally, affected businesses and their accountants were required to apply for both forms of assistance by 31 December 2021 at the latest. Now, thanks to a newly-adopted and published ordinance, this application period is being extended by three months until 31 March 2022. These support instruments cover fixed costs and losses during the period 16 September 2020 to 30 June 2021, and this reference period will remain unchanged. However, extension of the application period provides accountants and tax advisors, who are required by law to submit applications, with more time to complete applications, enabling more businesses to receive support. Furthermore, an extended processing period enables a higher level of quality assurance in the application procedure.
"The current situation is challenging for many businesses, and for this reason, we are being as accommodating as possible when it comes to deadlines. This amendment ensures that businesses are not overstretched, and we are also providing accountants with more time to properly prepare their clients' applications. On top of the economic assistance announced, this deadline extension constitutes a further form of support for business operators," adds Mr Blümel.
To date, just under 75 000 applications have been made for the fixed cost subsidy 800 000, and a sum of over EUR 870 million has been paid out. For loss compensation I, almost 3 000 applications have already been made, and over EUR 560 million paid out.
